Description
A Pine Warbler, Setophaga pinus, stands tall at the end of a broken branch singing a bright musical trill morning song. Her song is as cheery and lovely as her bright yellow feathers. The Pine Warbler is one of the few warblers that stay in the continental US for the winter months, specifically the Southeast. They are the first ones to fly back northward in the spring. They receive their names due to spending a great deal of time high in the pine trees and eating insects and seeds from the pine tree, hence why they are difficult birds to be seen.

What a cute bird. We don't get many warblers here and they only pass thru. Excellent capture Christy! f/v
