Description
A beautiful Tiger Longwing, Heliconius hecale, butterfly drinks nectar from a garden flower. The Tiger Longwing's name is fitting due to the tiger like stripes and spots and orange color. Sometimes referred to as the Golden Longwing is misleading as the color is more of an orange than gold. The Tiger Longwing's native area is from Mexico to Northern South America.
