Description
A Northern Mockingbird, Mimus polyglottos, perches on a weathered branch full of old pine needles and cones taking in the morning sunrise. The Northern Mockingbird gets his named based on the various sounds he can mimic. They continue to learn new sounds/songs throughout their entire life. They mimic the sounds of frogs and other birds that are around them, including yet not limited to, hawks, shrikes, jays, killdeer, orioles, blackbirds, and many others.
